Assistant Professor (post-doc), non-tenure track (all genders welcome)

in the working group Stochastic Processes.

Area of responsibility

  • Autonomous scientific work including the publication of research articles in one or more of the following fields: numerical methods for stochastic differential equations, computational stochastics, analysis of stochastic differential equations, optimal transport
  • Active participation in the research activities of the research area and at international conferences
  • Autonomous teaching at Bachelor's and Master's level including service teaching
  • Involvement in raising third party funding and in the work on third party funded projects
  • Co-supervision of doctoral students
  • Participation in university self-management
  • Participation in public relations and third-mission activities

Requirements

  • PhD/Doctoral degree at a national or international university in mathematics or a related field
  • Strong background in one or more of the following fields: numerical methods for stochastic differential equations, computational stochastics, analysis of stochastic differential equations, optimal transport
  • First publications in renowned relevant journals
  • Experience in the dissemination of scientific results
  • Fluency in English

  • Strong background in multi-perspective research combining stochastic differential equations and optimal transport
  • Ability to work in a diverse team
  • Scientific curiosity and enthusiasm for imparting knowledge
  • Didactic skills and first teaching experience
  • High communication and dissemination skills
  • Programming skills (e.g., Python, Matlab, R, SageMath, Maple, Mathematica, C/C++, ...)
  • Ability to communicate in German

Our offer

The employment contract is concluded for the position as an Assistant Professor without tenure track and stipulates a starting salary of € 4,351.90 gross per month (14 times a year; previous experience deemed relevant to the job can be recognised in accordance with the collective agreement).
