University Assistant (Prae-Doc)

30 hours/week | limited

The Institute of Statistics and Mathematical Methods in Economics, at TU Wien, is offering a position as university assistant (Prae-doc) for 4 years for 30hours/week. Expected start: February 2022.

Tasks:

• Research activities (preparing PhD dissertation and research articles)
• Collaboration in teaching (including evaluations, exams and guidance of students)
• Participation in scientific events
• Assistance/Collaboration in organization of events and other administrative tasks

Your profile:

• Bachelor Degree in Mathematics (preferably) or related field
• Completion of a Master Degree in Applied Mathematics (preferably, in Variational Analysis) with outstanding marks and research oriented Master Thesis
• Strong skills in the following scientific fields: Functional Analysis, PDE, Optimization
• Good communication skills and writing texts in English
• Strong interest in research and supervision work with students

Entry level salary is determined by the pay grade B1 of the Austrian collective agreement for university staff. This is a minimum of currently EUR 2,228.70/month gross, 14 times/year for 30 hours/week. Relevant working experiences may increase the monthly income.
