Assistant Professor, non-tenure track

Fulltime, 40 hours/week

Your responsibilities

  • Independent as well as collaborative research within the Bayesians@WU Group, chaired by Sylvia Frühwirth-Schnatter, focusing on methodological and computational aspects within new research topics in Bayesian Statistics and Econometrics
  • Providing teaching assistance, and holding courses and examinations (Teaching load of four hours/week each semester)
  • Contributing to organizational and administrative Tasks.

Your profile

  • PhD in applied mathematics, statistics or equivalent
  • Enthusiastic interest in research in Bayesian statistics, exemplified through publications in international journals in topics including, but not limited to, Bayesian non-parametric methods, Bayesian inference for high-dimensional and complex data, Bayesian time series analysis and state space modelling, or Bayesian Computing
  • Interest in applications in economics, finance, and business
  • Excellent programming skills (e.g. in R or Matlab)

German language skills are not a prerequisite.

The gross monthly salary is € 3.889,50 (paid 14 times per year).
