Project Staff Member (Research Associate, pre-doc)

The Research Institute for Capital Markets of WU Vienna is currently inviting applications for a 30 hours/week Project Staff Member position (Research Associate, pre-doc, employee subject to the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement for University Staff - Angestellte/r gemäß Kollektivvertrag für die Arbeitnehmer/innen der Universitäten; minimum gross monthly salary, paid 14 times per year: Euro 2,071,- recognition of previous employment - if relevant to the advertised position - possible). This employee position will be limited for the duration of the FWF-funded research project, i.e. March 31, 2019, starting on October 1, 2017 (commencement date subject to change).

Responsibilities:

• Assisting in the FWF-funded research project "Identifying Risk Factors of Emerging Market Bond Funds"
• Applied Research in the area of finance
• Supporting operative tasks at the institute
• Possible interest in acquiring a doctoral degree

Your Profile:

• MSc degree or MSc degree candidate in finance, financial economics or economics
• Strong interest in capital markets, asset allocation and fund management
• Highly motivated for academic work
• Programming and quantitative skills are a strong advantage
• Knowledge of data work especially with Markit, Morningstar, and/or Bloomberg are of advantage
• High proficiency in English
• Knowledge of German is not a must but a plus
