Promotionsmöglichkeit für Quereinsteiger im Bereich Betriebswirtschaft/Management

Am Lehrstuhl für Controlling der Universität Wien sind ab sofort eine Stelle als

wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiter/in (mit Promotionsmöglichkeit)

für die Dauer von maximal 4 Jahren zu besetzen. Die Vergütung erfolgt entsprechend den Richtlinien der Universität Wien. Der/Die Mitarbeiter/in soll sich durch seine/ihre Forschung für eine Promotion im Rahmen des internationalen PhD-Programms in Management qualifizieren. Das Programm vermittelt Kenntnisse, die es ermöglichen, analytische Methoden auf betriebswirtschaftliche Fragen anzuwenden. Das Programm wird vom Institut für Betriebswirtschaftslehre der Universität Wien organisiert. Darüber hinaus besteht die Möglichkeit einer Teilnahme an einem vom FWF geförderten strukturieren Forschungsprogramm im Bereich Accounting, Reporting, und Taxation (siehe http://www.dart.ac.at/).

Die Stelle ist insbesondere für Volkswirte, Wirtschaftsingenieure und (Wirtschafts/Finanz-) Mathematiker geeignet. Das Institut gilt im deutschsprachigen Raum derzeit als eine der forschungsstärksten Einrichtungen im Bereich der Betriebswirtschaftslehre (siehe http://wirtschaftswissenschaften.univie.ac.at/).

Die Forschung am Lehrstuhl ist primär methodisch ausgerichtet und deckt Bereiche des Managerial Accounting mit den Schwerpunkten Anreiz-, Vergütungs- und Corporate Governance-Systeme ab. Bei Fragen und Interesse wenden sie sich bitte an:

The Chair of Managerial Accounting (Prof. Dr. Thomas Pfeiffer) at the University of Vienna invites applicants for 2 positions of a

University Assistant (prae doc).

The position starting September 2015 is limited to four years and paid in accordance with the current salary guidelines of the University of Vienna. The position comprises participation in research, conducting of independent research and teaching assistance.

The chair’s research is theoretically oriented and focuses on contract theory, incentive systems and corporate governance. According to the Chair’s research emphasis interest in quantitative scientific work in the field of managerial accounting is expected.

Candidates are strongly encouraged to enroll in the PhD program Doctoral Program in Accounting, Reporting, and Taxation (DART, http://www.dart.ac.at/), located in Vienna and Graz, Austria.

Extent of Employment: 30 hours/week (https://personalwesen.univie.ac.at/kollektivvertrag/, §48 VwGr. B1 Grundstufe - praedoc). On top of this relevant chargeable work experience determines the assessment to a particular salary grade.

Profile: (1) Master's degree in Mathematics, Economics, Management or a comparable field (statistics, econometrics). (2) A sound understanding of the principles as well as the (mathematical) methods of economic modeling. (3) Fluency in spoken and written English.
