4 Positions for PhD Students

The Department of Statistics and Operations Research at the University of Vienna (working group Professor Pflug) opens 4 positions for PhD students. The candidates should hold a Master Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research or a similar discipline.

Research topics are Risk Management, Stochastic Optimization and Statistics of Extremes.

During their appointment of 3-4 years the candidates should phrase and complete their PhD thesis. They are supposed to actively take part in the research activities of the department and write their PhD theses. It is expected that the degree of a PhD is awarded to the candidates within this period.

The annual salary is EUR 36,000 before taxes. Candidates are expected to hold classes due to extent regulations of wage agreement.
