The Mathematical Finance Group at Oxford is advertising a three-year postdoctoral research position, the Nomura Junior Research Fellowship. The position is based in the Oxford Centre for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (OCIAM, www.maths.ox.ac.uk/ociam), and the holder will also have a Junior Research Fellowship at Wadham College. It is funded by a generous benefaction from Nomura International plc, and the Fellow will have opportunities for contact with their research teams.

There are no teaching duties associated with the post, but there will be opportunities to teach on our full and part-time graduate courses, and to be involved in the supervision of Masters students.

Oxford's Mathematical Finance Group is one of the largest in the UK. Faculty members involved with the subject include Sam Howison, Jeff Dewynne, Mike Giles, Ben Hambly, Terry Lyons and William Shaw. There are about 12 doctoral students and a large number of full and part time Masters students in the area. Research interests span the whole subject, with stochastic analysis, modelling, pde and computational themes. There are close links with other groups within Oxford, especially in the Business School and in physics.

This is an excellent opportunity for a talented young researcher to develop their work in an exciting and stimulating environment. We aim to make a high quality appointment and would be grateful if you would bring this opportunity to the attention of any potential candidates.

Further details can be found on

and the closing date is 14 March.
