At the Institute of Statistics and Mathematical Methods in Economics, in the Research Unit of Risk Management in Financial and Actuarial Mathematics, TU Wien is offering a position as pre-doc limited to 3 years for 30 hours/week. Expected start: March 2025.

Tasks:

• Research on mathematical finance leading to a dissertation and publications
• Participation in scientific events
• Assistance/Collaboration in organizational and administrative tasks

Your profile:

• Completion of a master or diploma curriculum in mathematics, or a related field (e.g., computer science or theoretical physics with a strong background in relevant mathematical topics)
• Experience in the following scientific fields: mathematical finance, probability theory
• Good English skills

Entry level salary is determined by the pay grade B1 of the Austrian collective agreement for university staff. This is a minimum of currently EUR 2,684.10/month gross, 14 times/year for 30 hours/week. Relevant working experiences may increase the monthly income.
