What to expect

The successful applicant will carry out independent research and supervision activities in the field of modern Statistics.

We are particularly interested in researchers whose scientific work focuses on the methodological aspects of modern statistical techniques and machine learning algorithms and their application to the analysis of large data sets. A proven interest in applications from the fields of economics, finance or business is an advantage, but candidates working in other application areas in the fields of social or environmental science are also encouraged to apply.

In line with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, teaching duties associated with the position initially comprise 4 hours per week; they can be in quantitative education programs at WU at all Levels.

What you have to offer

You hold a diploma or an MSc as well as a PhD in mathematics, statistics or equivalent. We expect scientific excellence, documented by publications in internationally recognized journals, excellent preprints and presentations at seminars and conferences. German language skills are not a prerequisite, but we expect the willingness to acquire proficiency in German over time.

The minimum monthly gross salary amounts to € 4,351.90 (14 times per year). This salary may be adjusted based on equivalent prior work experience. In addition, we offer a wide range of attractive social benefits.
