The Bash script mail_lookuplist which was formerly presented here was not just utterly superfluous and buggy, even its conception was dangerously wrong. Hence, I removed it, better anytime than never. Please accept my sincere apologies.

You might want to have a look at mail_syntax, which is a script suitable to check the syntax of mail addresses.
